Kezia Giles Carroll was born in Broxholm, England on May 20, 1840. She was baptized into the Mormon Church in 1853 and in the following year she and her family made their way to the United States. After a six week voyage over the Atlantic, they arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was not until the year of 1856 that they found themselves in Utah where they settled in Provo.
